Links to Related Sites Bio-Organics Mycorrhizal fungi. Very briefly, these are fungi that associate themselves with the roots of all sorts of plants in a symbiotic relationship that benefits both the fungi and the plant.
The fungi make nutrients more available to the plants, increase the number of the plant's roots, increase the number of blooms, shorten the time to blooming/bearing in many cases, and generally improve the plant's overall health. I
have used them with great success in my orchard, vineyard and garden and highly recommend the fungi. My source is Bio-Organics I can send articles I have written about the fungi, on request. Compost toilet Don't laugh. With our compost toilet we no longer use water flushing toilets, our septic tank doesn't have to be cleaned any more, and we can get rid of most of our kitchen garbage more
easily. The compost, which breaks down for one to two years or more before it reaches the cleanout port, is entirely safe to use and is completely broken down. After many years of using a Clivus Multrum toilet, which had problems,
we switched to a Phoenix compost toilet and have eliminated almost all work. The Phoenix toilet takes a small amount of maintenance, but the amount is so slight the trade-off on decreased water use and septic maintenance is well
worth it. In the city, each Phoenix in use means that much less material going into municipal sewage treatment plants, using precious water and adding to pollution. I like to think of these toilets as a one-family-at-a-time
pollution solution. These sites also have links to MANY other fruit growing sites.
